Summer Sippers...


Summer brings sun, fun, relaxation &...

most of the time, a good cocktail!  

I heart to have a nice glass of Sangria in the summer.

Here are 4 of my favorite summer sipper recipes!

What you need:

  • 4 oranges, 2 juiced, 2 halved lengthwise and thinly sliced crosswise
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1 bottle dry red wine, chilled
  • 2 lemons, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups seltzer or club soda
  • Ice cubes, for serving

How to make it:

  1. In a large pitcher, combine orange juice, sugar, and brandy; stir well to dissolve sugar. Add wine, orange slices, lemon slices, and seltzer; stir to combine. Fill glasses with ice before serving.

What you need: 

  • 6 cups assorted fruits (such as mango, pineapple, cantaloupe, and apricot), sliced or cut into chunks
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced peeled fresh ginger
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups fresh basil or mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup orange liqueur, such as Cointreau
  • 1 bottle crisp white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon)
  • Ice

How to make it:

  1. In a large bowl or pitcher, combine fruit, ginger, basil or mint, and orange liqueur. Mash gently with the back of a wooden spoon until basil is bruised and fruit releases juices. Add wine and lemon juice and stir to combine. Refrigerate 1 hour (or up to 1 day). To serve, fill eight glasses with ice and top with sangria.

    What you need:


    2 cups blueberries
    2 cups blackberries
    2 cups hulled strawberries
    2 cups mixed red and golden raspberries
    1 tablespoon superfine sugar
    5 ounces Framboise, or other raspberry liqueur
    1 bottle chilled rose wine
    1 1/3 cups white cranberry juice

    How to make it:
    1In a pitcher, combine fruit. Stir in sugar.
        Add Framboise; let sit at least 1 hour. Stir
        in wine and juice. Serve chilled.

    What you need:


    • 1 peach
    • 1 nectarine
    • 3 apricots
    • 5 ounces peach brandy
    • 1 bottle (750 mL) chilled Prosecco, (Italian sparkling wine)
    • 1 cup peach nectar
    • Superfine sugar (optional)

    How to make it:

    1. In a pitcher, combine peach, nectarine, and apricots, all pitted and cut into wedges. Stir in peach brandy; let sit at least 1 hour. Stir in Prosecco and peach nectar. Add superfine sugar, if desired. Serve chilled.
