Great way to start the morning:

This cereal has become my breakfast of choice since I have started running again.
A small bowl with soy milk gets me through right to lunch!

I heart the berries in it!

You should try it.

I get mine at Walmart.

Upcycling is my new favorite term...

How amazing to take an object that has already been created (for one purpose) and re-think it
to create something new using the initial concept
in a completely different way!

I heart

This article about The Museum of Arts and Design
caught my eye
reminding me how much I heart the concept of
Creation = Art.

It is:

"Together the works broadcast loud and clear the museum’s ambition to upgrade its profile and segue from its previous concentration on craft to a hipper, more wide-ranging program"
The New York Times

One of my many loves...

Priceless are the feelings we get from the little things in life!

I heart all things that are monogrammed.

The unspoken elegance is worth it's weight in gold!

Clean, crisp & neat...

Adding an element of class and personalized feel to your dailies can be quite easy...

Either you can purchase items already monogrammed or,

Once you decide which design fits your style and what items in your home you want to add that special touch to, bring your chosen items to a seamstress and voila!

$40 Kittens for Adoption

I was at the Vet today to get my GUS all fixed up and they have 2 female kittens 5 weeks old for adoption.

They come with shots & spade for only $40.

Give one of these a good home someone! :)

My poor GUS has to wear this... BOO!
He is NOT a happy camper!

Sticks & Stones...

I heart ART!

It absolutely amazes me how everywhere we look there is art!
Be it a building or a sign, a haircut or a piece of clothing...
It's all a form of art.

On my search for interesting creative things I bumped into these:

Rock art.

At first, I thought to myself how odd these crochet rocks were but, I found myself going back to the images over and over.

There is something simple and lovely about them that keeps catching my eye.

Upon further search, I found a few more images of rock art.
Check these out!

Pearl Knotting

I heart to create!

My favorite medium to use = beads

A good friend of mine, Noelia, taught me how to Pearl Knot a few weeks ago
since then,
I have been dreaming of all the cool jewelry
I am going to make.

Here is what she taught me:

First, you need pearls...
there are so many sizes, shapes & colors...
just choose the ones you like!

Next, you will need:
2 crimps, 2 u clasps, crimping pliers, tweezers & silk thread

TIP *you can also use liquid stitch to strengthen the knots if you like

Here we go!

Take the silk string
TIP *I buy mine with the needle already threaded

On the fresh end of the string, you will have the starting knot,
thread on 1 crimp.

Take 1 u clasp, thread it on the string creating a loop as shown below.
Make sure when you are done threading the u clasp to also thread the needle back through the crimp.
Then, take the crimping pliers and fasten the crimp in place.

(this starts the beginning of any necklace)

Now you are ready to start adding beads!
take the first bead - string it on tight up against the crimp.
(as shown below)

Hello Summer!

4th of July usually marks the beginning of summer for me...

Around this time, I start to work out more, eat less and get
ready for my favorite fashion buy.

~ bathing suits ~

Searching for the perfect cut, style, color and fit can pose to be quite a task...

I always depend on Victoria's Secret to start
the creative juices flowing
& to help me narrow down my search.

So far this year, these are some of my favorites!

I heart the animal prints...

I heart the clean of the gold and white...

I heart the bold of the yellow!
and.... I love the price!

With a new bathing suit,
you have to have a fabulous cover-up.
Here are some of my favorites:

Usually, V.S. doesn't have a
lot of stock later in the season.
Just in case, I have chosen a few others!

Shame on you!

How sad for a little girl to have to take the brunt of the
of her mother...

Casey knows what happened to her little girl...
weather she killed her or
an accident happened,
 she is still dead.

Casey cares more about her own life than her daughter's or
she would have confessed to what

The death penalty would have been the easy way out...
now, she has to live a long life where
everyone in the world knows her
and the daily shame of her daughters death
happening in vein.

I would love to hear what you have to say...

Happy 4th of July!!!!!!

When I was a kid, we used to plan for the 4th of July weekend for weeks.

I loved when my mom and I would go shopping for all of the food together.

We always had a huge spread of all the great picnic things and it was a lot of fun to go to the beach to partake in the weekend festivities.

We used to go to Schroon Lake, NY.

You could swim all day.  Eat great food.  Walk around town.  Watch the parade.  Eat again...
Then came the show!

What great memories those holiday weekends were!!!

to be a kid again...

Wishing you all a fun, safe time,
creating great memories with your family this weekend!
